Are we dead yet?

"No! Never! I will never watch that show!"
These were the very words I uttered when my friends encouraged me to watch TWD.

NEVER and never in my wildest dreams did I think that I'll end up telling my friends that I'm now a scaredy-cat-turned-zombie lover. How can I? I could only imagine their laughing faces while telling me that I looked dead as a "walker" when I argued on how the show was horrible. So I resolved that the best way to tell them is through my blog which I know they rarely visit. Whew! This is an assurance that I'm safe from their mockery...FOR NOW.

You're probably guessing why I'm reacting so weird towards the show. It's probably because first, I'm really weird and second, I had the most terrible no-good-night-sleep-all-nightmares week all because of one episode on the show. Yeah, I'm pretty weird and so freaked out!!! That episode scared the hell out of me!!!!!!

That was the end of TWD in my life...and so was the beginning.

Last week I made up my mind to finally face my fears so I asked my friend to give me a copy of Season 1. At first I had hesitations but when I clicked the play button I knew there was no turning back! My initial response was to shut my eyes. My subconscious kept telling me to close the laptop and move on with my life. All the same, granted that I'm not a huge fan of horror stories, I went back to watching it.

And... BOOM! There I was, hardly trying to get out of my seat, addicted to the show I once loathed.

That makes me weirder doesn't it? :)

So now you're probably wondering why even I am hooked with it. Here's why.

THE "WALKERS"

Commonly known as zombies, they basically follow sounds like dogs but they could also see and smell human flesh. Once they get a hold of you they wouldn't have second thoughts to eat you. That's why the only way to kill them is through their brains (although technically they don't have theirs anymore). Another thing, the moment that you get scratched or bitten you'll die and then come back again but not as yourself but as a walker.

Everyone, including all Left4Dead players to blood-spilling lovers to regular people like me sure can't get enough on how these walkers prey humans. But the best part is when the characters wipe out these walkers. I find it thrilling whenever a character kills a walker! Real thrilling!

THE CHARACTERS

The characters compliment each other. Each of them has a story to tell. From Rick, the officer, who continues to fight for his family to Shane, his best friend, who had an affair with his wife. That's how the characters are so complicated! Ughh! I also love how the characters are so diverse. People from different race. There's Korean, American, African American.Everyone has an issue which brings different complications to the group. Everyone trying to fight to the finish. Yet, no matter how diverse they may be, they share a common thrust and that is to survive.

THE STORY

As they say, the plot thickens. Revolving in a post-apocalyptic setting with zombies around and only a few survivors in a quest to find answers and the truth, The Walking Dead's plot makes it one of those unforgettable shows. I find the story development exhilarating and it's twists completely mind-boggling. The show leaves huge question marks on top of my head whenever I watch an episode. It makes me question on what's going to happen next, who's going to die next and all those sorts of question. Sometimes it just pisses me off when an episode ends with a cliff-hanger. IT'S SIMPLY AMAZES ME!

So if you're trying to decide if you'll watch or not. I'm telling you it's not too late. Have me as an inspiration and this picture. :))

One last thought bothers me...if this were a reality show would I be a survivor or would I say "Am I dead yet?"

Graffiti Skies

"Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time."

-Thomas Merton

At long last, a photo shoot with a graffiti wall! I've been looking forward for such a photo shoot and yesterday, together with my two other friends, we made my dream come to life!

Ever since I was a kid, I've been a lover of the arts particularly colors. It tickled my creativity and imagination. A sudden pleasurable excitement  flows through my veins whenever I see it. I used to put colors on nearly everything (including walls) and I could recall how my mom would reprimand me, tell me that what I did was wrong and give me a clean sheet of paper where I could color. Then and there I knew that what I did (in contrast to my mom's belief) was actually right-I FORMED ART!

Art comes in many forms. Poems. Short Stories. Songs. Movies. Paintings. Sculpture. Architecture. Food. Fashion. All of which, basically trying to convey a message and that is to express oneself.

Thus, that whole concept transpired in this very shoot. To value, appreciate and express myself through art. As I've said, art takes different forms and the medium I chose to present it was fashion and with a little bit of luck that graffiti wall behind me.

University of the Philippines is one of the top Universities in the country. But unfortunately no, I'm not going to that school if that's what you're thinking. Lol. This shirt was handed down to be my brother who went to the University though technically I stole it from him. *evil laugh* The rough edges on the neck part had a pitiful history. HAHA. I was planning to make a decent v-neck but failed to do so. :(

Cotton On is a new brand which I first learned from the David Guison. Anyways, my mom went to Singapore for 3 weeks and she bought me these cool shades. Because of this, I'm now an avid fan of Cotton On. Go check their stuffs at the Mall of Asia :)

Skateboarding is one of my greatest frustrations in life. Seriously! I've always wanted to try it since my brother did only I didn't have enough guts to even make an attempt. But since this is a photo shoot I had to try it out! Suprisingly, I can say I actually did great!

You can hype this look on lookbook

Here's a shot of me on my successful attempt to skateboarding! Cheers to art! :)

Breaking The Dawn

Who would've thought that something so perfect could end? I'm talking about the epic finale of the Twilight saga-Breaking Dawn Part 2.

Excited is an understatement to what I'm feeling right now as I type this post. FINALLY! The long wait is over! My anticipation to watch the film has, at long last, subsided. But my eagerness to share to you what I've seen is only just beginning to rise.

BREAKING DAWN PART 2 IS OUT IN CINEMAS!!!

I am a self-confessed Twilight fan and there is no doubt to that. But bias aside, I'm inviting you to go watch the film. Not only because it's the last installment of the Twilight saga but because it's worth your money.

While most people think that the film would be all cheesy moments and love scenes of Edward and Bella, the film completely did not put too much emphasis on that this time. Yes, the film still revolves with Edward and Bella's love story but on this film it established what they can do to fight for their love especially now that they have their daughter Renesmee.

Another thing that spices up the movie are the new set of characters. Now that the Volturi is after Renesmee, the Cullen's seek help from their vampire friends. In the long run (literally and figuratively), 18 vampires come to their aid, some of which are "gifted". And did I mention? What makes it even more thrilling is that Bella and Renesmee have their own gifts too. I could say that the new characters are well-chosen most especially Renesmee! She is befitting to own the role. I swear she was just as I imagined her to be when I read the book.

Furthermore, the biggest question I had after I finished reading the book was as to how the film would depict the battle. And awesomely enough, the film pulled it off that I could actually say that it was the part I liked the most! I also appreciated the fact that they commemorated the different actors that took part of the film from start to finish. Kudos to whoever thought of putting that!

On the other hand, what I didn't like the most are the effects on some parts of the film. Don't get me wrong, the effects are great but I wasn't satisfied with it. There were parts were I felt I was watching an old film because of the poor graphics. In addition to that, I also hated how the film was quite slow-paced. I didn't like the way they built the story in the beginning.

So the film gets an 8 out of 10 for me. :)

Go watch the film! Congratulations to the director Bill Condon, Rob Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner for the success of this film!

And we continued blissfully into this small but perfect piece of our forever.

Forever and forever and forever...

November, besides Halloween, is the month for the much-awaited epic conclusion of the Twilight Saga- Breaking Dawn Part 2.

Needless to say, I'm a twi-hard fan and quite frankly I'm all antsy to watch the film! When I first watched Twilight, I was irrevocably in love with it.  There's something with the story of Edward (the hot vamp that everyone wants) and Bella (the poker-faced human who did next to nothing to deserve the vamp's love) that instantly captured my heart. Plus the fact that Jacob (the werewolf who made shorts the new fashion statement) completed the love triangle and in some ways tested the love story of Edward and Bella.

But kidding aside, I really am truly excited for the film! What will happen now that Bella's a vampire? What will happen now that the Volturi's after their daughter Renesmee? What will happen now that Edward and Bella's love is once again put to the test? What will happen now?

I JUST CAN'T WAIT!!!! :)

This is a DIY tank top which was once a shirt. I had enough of the sleeves so I had to let go of them (it was painful to watch). Anyway, this top had been with me since I was in 4th year High School it was made for a project promoting the use of our native tongue.

The biker jeans was bought from BUM and it's actually pretty edgy. It was bought as a birthday present to me last year and I've worn this since then. If you think these pants look good then go buy one for yourself! Every penny is worth it! :)

Ta-da!!! My very first DIY shoes inspired by comic strips. I love reading comic strips and because of that I decided to put them on my shoes. Peculiar, eh? More of artistic!

Hype this look on lookbook ! :)

IT'S...WAIT FOR IT...

WHAT TIME IS IT?

"Adventure Time! Come on, grab your friends we'll go to very distant lands. With Jake the Dog and Finn the Human the fun will never end, it's Adventure Time!"

During my semestral break I had a routine. Eat. Sleep. And yes, watch Adventure Time. I was watching it awhile ago when it hit me...ADVENTURE TIME WITH FINN AND JAKE is AMAZE BALLS! It was not until then that I finally told myself I had to write something about this show and since I have my own blog now I knew there was no better place to pour out my thoughts than here.

I was watching it awhile ago when it hit me...ADVENTURE TIME WITH FINN AND JAKE is AMAZE BALLS!

Who wouldn't love this show? From the nonsensical remarks of Finn the Human to the crazy antics of Jake the Dog, everyone will surely love it! But, if you don't know the show you better read on.

Nickelodeon first aired the show but gave it up. Little did it know that its rival, Cartoon Network, saw its potential and ordered two seasons of it. That, I believe, is the best move Cartoon Network did because the show eventually bestowed its promise of revival for the network and of course a good laugh.

Both young and old are seriously hooked into it because of its humor and story (Please don't stare at me like I'm the only one who loves adventure stories). Furthermore, I can say the show has this some kind of magic (Probably some kind of magic from the Land of Ooo) that makes me more and more addicted to it. It's not that regular children show where it's all morals. Don't get me wrong, the show also has lessons to share but it takes a different twist to show them.

One good thing about the show is that every single character has their own kind of silliness and wit that makes the show more interesting. The randomness of the lines of the characters is another thing that cracks me up. It's like serious for some time and the next thing you know you're laughing again. YES, THAT'S HOW FREAKIN' HILARIOUS IT IS! :)
And with that, I proudly present to you the two out-of-this-world main characters of Adventure Time!

1. Finn- A regular 14-year old boy who loves going on adventures and nothing more than saving the day. If you are baffled on what he is wearing, that's a hat that covers his extremely-flowing-golden-rapunzel-hair. He usually says random exclamations like "Algebraic" or "Mathematical!".  He has a lust for adventures yet he sometimes has problems on handling tough situations. Although he appears to be brave, Jake has fears as well like spiders and oceans.

2. Jake the Dog- Jake is Finn's best friend (so cliche). He is a shape-shifting dog who is 28 years old in "magical dog years" (not-so cliche). He is Finn's adoptive brother who acts as a confidant and mentor to his super energetic brother. He is laid back at times but fights if needed.

As for the recurring character, I believe you have to watch the show to know them yourselves. :)

As for me, I'm quite sure I'll watch it every single day and wouldn't miss a single episode for a dang good laugh.
Adventure Time is that time when you can just sit back and relax on your couch and go along with the adventures of Finn and Jake. It's that time when you can you just reminisce your childhood days where you had adventures with your friends. It's that time when you get gaga over something and you loosen up for some time. It's that time when you just didn't seem to have a problem.

So the next time you open your television don't forget to ask yourself...
WHAT TIME IS IT?

And I'll be the first to answer...
IT'S ADVENTURE TIME!

THE GENESIS

The beginning is the most important part of the work. And it's because it's the most gruelling. Just. Like. Now.

I've only started blogging so please bear with me. I've never had the guts to do blogging until now. It's probably because of two reasons: 1. It's unbearable to think that nobody would read my blog and 2. I just didn't trust myself.

All these years I've been confounded in some kind of prison. As others put it, your only and most terrifying competition is yourself. As I contemplated with this, I began to say to myself that I should start to believe in myself as much as others believe in me. So I knew I just had to put up my own blog.

I hope you guys like and love it!
